Self-Discipline
" Shut up! You stupid woman!" Tom scolded his teacher. Tom was a boy who had no self-discipline. He never pass up his homework in time, bullies his classmates and always shout at his teachers and parents. Hence, everybody is afraid of him. He had no friends. All the teachers dislike him, except for one teacher.
That teacher's name was Mrs Tan. She thought that every student can have self-discipline. One day, Mrs Tan saw Tom tearing his homework into bits. She went forward and asked Tom what had happened. Instead of answering her, Tom throwed the bits of paper on her face and shouted" All the teachers are stupid!!!"and he ran away. Mrs Tan thought about what Tom said and asked the other teachers what happened. The teachers told her that Tom's Chinese teacher, Mr Lim had call him stupid. Tom was very agitated and ran out of the class. The next day, Mrs Tan asked Tom to meet her after school.
"Ringggggggg!" the school bell rang. Tom made his way to the staff room to find Mrs Tan. When he reached Mrs Tan desk, Mrs Tan was sitting there with a serious look on her face. Mrs Tan asked Tom to take a seat. Mrs Tan told Tom that self-discipline is very important. Every one should have it. She explained what is self-discipline. Mrs Tan told Tom a story about self-discipline. They spoke for three hours. When Tom went home, he went straight to his room. He saw his room in a complete mess and he realised that he had no self-discipline. The next day, Tom went to the staff room and thanked Mrs Tan for helping him.
From that day on, Tom worked hard in his studies. He got lots of friends after he turn over a new leaf. Tom learned that self-discipline is very important to everybody.

Entry 18: Reflective Time for Science (Light Energy)
My mother uses a table light at night to pack her bag while me and my sister sleep. My maid uses the light in the toilet to let her see the clothes that she is washing. My father uses the light to watch the television. I use the light to do my homework. My sister uses the light to play her toys.
Light help me and my family to see clearly, do my homework, use the computer, watch television and play toys.
Without light, we will be living in a world of darkness, we will bump into things or people easily and get hurt because we can't see without light, plants will die because they is no sunlight for them to make food and without food, plants will die.

Entry 17: Classroom Cleanliness
I think my classroom is clean because me and my friends help to clean the classroom sometimes. If the classroom is not clean, there will be pests and litter on the floor, we will not be able to concentrate in class. We sweep the floor and pick up litter. The activity that I participate in is sweeping the floor. I have learned from this activity that cleanliness is very important. The value that I have learned from this cleaning activity is Courage and Excellence.

Entry 16: Influenza A H1N1
Influenza A H1N1 is a virus spread by pigs. It spreads when people sneeze and cough without covering their mouth and nose. Countries in Asia like Japan, Philippines, Thailand and even Singapore are faced with cases of Influenza A H1N1. Countries are doing very hard to prevent Influenza A H1N1. These are some examples:
- People wear masks when they go out.
- People wash their hands thoroughly with soup and water.
- People sneeze or cough into a tissue.
- They avoid crowded places and stay at home.
I think that the temperatures taking is effective in preventing Influenza A H1N1 because it will be better to check our temperature regularly. Many people bring their hand sanitizer to clean their hands. I will check my temperature daily,do not go out when i am not feeling well and avoid sharing personal items with my friends and family.
